in the city center this hotel is easily accessible.

internet is very weak and some maintenance might be required in the rooms. Compared to other hotels in Yaounde in the same category the price for food is a bit higher

My Not So Great Experience at Djeuga Palace Hotel in Cameroon

I was glad that the room did not have a carpet and the room and the bathroom seemed fairly clean. One of the member of staff at the restaurant was exceptionally helpful, her name is Arlette.

The hotel is rated 4 Star hotel, so even for a standard room and at that rate, I expected better quality and comfort. The beddings and towels did not inspire a lot of confidence. I think once upon a time they must have been white but not anymore, they were grayish - brown in colour, therefore I was not sure of their cleanliness. They were also worn out. There was no tea station I had to negotiate for a kettle and a cup. This was at second attempt. My first request was turned down with an emphatic no. I was told that if I want such amenities I should upgrade to a room more than twice the amount, yet a hotel nearby, of lesser rating had the tea station. The public places like the corridor, which had a carpet, and the elevator were dirty!!! Dust clung to the borders all along the corridor. The cleaning cart which was in the corridor, was a horror. The restaurant, from the ambience to the furnishings, was not nice. The quality of the food was not excellent either. To be honest, I am wondering what is the basis of the rating of 4 Star. May be it is based on the suites? However, my view is that the rating of a hotel should take everything into consideration, holistically. The staff at the reception, some were nice, others I would describe as off-hand. I know that language was a barrier, they speaking French and I English only, but for the most part they did not, in my opinion, make any effort at all. Unless if it was in fine print, I assumed that at that amount, it included breakfast and taxes, but not all. While I could pay in $, no change in $ was available.

I recommend the hotel

The staff, food and the facility are nice. The chocolate bar is excellent.

The internet was not stable and as a business traveler, I needed high speed internet to stay on top of my work. The technology in the conference room was not helpful. I would not project the video and the PowerPoint I wanted to use for my presentation. The people who smoke and play music close to the hotel entrance must be stopped.

The hotel is easily accessible and is in the heart of the city

Noise from the sports complex, surrounding businesses, and neighboring rooms. The gym is not maintained (dirty, no towels, no water, old equipment) My room did not have a good working space.

Pool looks nice, that they had a room available, The beer was cold, The windows in the rooms of the 5th floor can actually be opened in case you want to kill yourself...

view over ugly neighbourhood. Restaurant was expensive and bad - really bad, but expensive (ant 30 USD). Internet is only useable in the lobby to some extend. after 4 Heiniken they ran out of heineken. Staff was slow and not following up. After buffet, you want a coffee, you have to go to another room to get hot water, come back and make your coffee. Front door of my room was not locked and some times it would not lock and you could not check if the door was locked from the inside. The Duve (bed cover) was old and heavy. The aircon was smelling so bad from exhaust, that i feared if i would be inhaling gasses all night. I do not know if they have placed the air intake next to the generator or if there are no filters. Minibar was not in the cabinet anymore - just an empty dirty hole. Lamps are all crocked and partly not functioning. The whole floor was wet after the shower do to leaking. Bed is old and hard as a board. In general, it is a run down typical african hotel where you are overpriced for rubbish.

The sound coming from The night club down the hotel annoyed me. I was there on assignment . And for a 4 stars hotel does not even offer a coffee in the room.

Not recommended.

Breakfast and pool area are nice.

Booked room for two persons. No two towels. Shower leaked. AC does not work well at all. Bed was very uncomfortable, Property is very dated. Needs to be remodeled (circa 1980). WIFI basically was not usable for the two days I spent at the property.

Poor accommodation and poor value for price

The bath was broken, the toilet silicon join was done poorly and leaked, i got a blood mark on my sheets, the room service left the used plates in the emergency doorway near my room for 2 days, the cleaning team did not change my towel once.

Not impressed.

Very central. Easy option as the conference I attended was organized in this hotel.

I don’t think it was great value for money. Also it would be necessary to do some capacity building of the personal in the reception. At the moment they were not very service-oriented. Also we could hear the Disco throughout the night in the rooms.
